Once upon a time

I'm still thinking about how I'm gonna celebrate my birthday. Lil sis will not be in Singapore, and I think the rest of the family members will be busy with their own life. I miss the time when I got back from school, and I see mum and dad surprising me with a cake in front of them. For the past few years, my birthday has turned into some disastrous birthday. Okay, not THAT disastrous.

Hmm let see. Back to 2008, I still remember when my best mates celebrated my birthday with a hand-written card and a super big teddy bear, which I named it Ashley. Best mates were the awesome-est bunch of people that I had. They even bought me a chocolate cake, and it's sweet of them to actually buy it for me and we shared during break time. After school, went off with I and had a little celebration. Well, not so of a celebration. More of like, getting-birthday-present-and-go-home.

Year 2009: I still remember this year cause me and family were getting ready to go out for my birthday dinner and when we got to know that grandmum got sick, we immediately rushed her to the hospital. She was diagnosed with mild stroke. And I spent my birthday in the hospital. That was the first that I blew my candles on the next day, cause we reached home around midnight. It's kinda sad, but well. At least I got some celebration.

2010: The year when I spent my holidays at Jakarta. I still remember when the night before, we decided to go for some Jazz festival in Jakarta, instead of clubbing. I was looking forward to the clubbing actually. Spent our night there with my aunts and then head back to the Jakarta home and rest cause I have a flight back to Singapore on my birthday. When I reached Singapore, the first thing that I looked for when I went out of the arrival was, my family. And I was hoping that they will give me a surprise or something. But, nah. They weren't there. So, I head back home by cab, feeling down. At least mum bought a cake and we had some mini celebration, without dad around. Only 4 of us.

Sad right? I know.
