A tsunami triggered by the biggest earthquake on record in Japan killed at least 1,000 people along the northeastern coast yesterday after a wall of water swept away everything in its path. Thousands of residents living in the northern part of Tokyo were evacuated from an area around a nuclear plant after fears of a radiation leak. The unfolding disaster in the wake of the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and 10-metre high tsunami prompted offers of help from dozens of countries.
Reading this article, just gives me goosebumps. I know Japan is a little farther than Singapore, but I'm a little worried about the little kids staying there. I'm sure, they're terrified looking at the huge waves coming in their way. I myself, when looking at those videos, got a little scared, hoping that these big waves are not coming towards Singapore.
I also read about this elderly who died because of tsunami earlier on. He got stucked underneath a wall when his house was being swept away by those waves.
